New to I-Doser, a few questions...

Post by Nckmcgwn »

My friend introduced me to I-Doser and while skeptical, I was very interested. It sounded like something that I would want to work, but being the huge skeptic I am, doubted the whole thing could possibly work.

After doing some research and reading through people's experiences, I figured I would give this thing a shot. I decided to go for the sleeping doses first, sense I never really have time during the day to do the other ones. My first dose I took was insomniac. I was relaxed, but I am the type of person who never gets comfortable. Whenever I lay down, if something in my body bothers me (need to pop my back or neck, move a limb, adjust something, or have an itch) I have to fix it then and there. I can't focus on the beats and forget the irritation. This poses my first question...

Does moving or having an irritation on your body effect the dose? Will it "knock you out of it" if something is bothering you?

Also, while taking insomniac, I must've fallen alseep and woken up moments later, because I checked my iPod and it said it had been through 25 minutes of it. I know for sure I wasn't laying there that long. I was annoyed of the sounds at that point and took them out. I did fall asleep shortly after taking the headphones out, though. It usually takes me a while to fall asleep, but I fell asleep rather quickly after the dose (even though I didn't use it all). My next question is this...

If you fall asleep during a dose, does that have any altering effect? What if it's not a sleeping dose? Also, is it safe to put the song on loop or should it just go on once?

I want to experiment with the other doses. You know, the ones that supposively give you strange experiences. What should I start with? I don't want it to be an uncomfortable/weird experience. I just want it to be enjoyable and relaxing. I heard Opium is a good starting dose, but I eventually want to experience a majority of the doses and find my favorites. Hopefully I am not immune to these things, because I do find it very interesting.

Thanks for reading through all of this crap, and I am looking forward to hear your feedback.

Okay I will try to answer your questions.

First if you want to move, adjust you position, do it. Even if you are meditating, you should adjust yourself so you feel better.

Secondly, I cant imagine any negative effects by falling asleep while listening to the programs. You can repeat the listening or restart it if you want... it just might take your brain some time to adjust to the new Hz, since usually programs are made to flow from about 12 Hz (normal active waves) up or down depending on the desired effect. If you are at 20.215 Hz and you turn off the recording, and restart, it will be slightly jarring since you are above normal brainwave activity.

Lastly, which recording should you do? I dont know. What effect do you want? I still like black sunshine the most... it is relaxing to me, but you may like something else... Idont like high freq programs, they give me a jumpy feeling, but that is just me.

Oh and you WONT see anything. Get that out of your head and you will enjoy it much more... expect sensations in the body and mental state, but not visual distortion. Your eyes are closed, right?

Good luck and enjoy, just dont expect the name of the 'dose' to reflect the experience and you will be much happier.

Most guides suggest not to move at all. The reason is because you have to concentrate and clear your mind when you use these doses. One slight move can throw you off but for some, it's not an issue. Do what you feel is right. Focus on the dose alone.

Please... People here try to make it seem mystical and magically, you dont have to focus on the tones, actually i doubt you SHOULD. I have seen the videos online with morons laughing and moaning and all, this is not the effect and NEVER will be. You ears will pick up the tonal differences without concentrating on them. I DO suggest you dont stimulate your brain in other ways during sessions, ie, talking watching tv or walking, etc... but to adjust your position so you are more comfortable is only going to INCREASE your enjoyment.

I know that I-doser works, and kudos to the developers, but I DO wish that they did not try to be so gimmicky... some people might outright avoid binaurals simply because of the 'digital drug' factor.

I first tried standard binaruals, then found out about I-doser. All binaurals work for me, I enjoy I-doser and I enjoy the binaurals I make myself.

Hey, I'm just telling him what works for me. Many people around have the idea that you can use I-doser while listening to some other music or watching TV. This will simply take your mind off what you are hearing. Focusing on the sounds is what works for me so.
