Can there be an addiction?

Post by Lemmy »

Hi. I heard about I-Doser yesterday and I figured I'd try it out on the weekend (busy during the week). Anyway, my main concern is this: Can this program or its contents form a mental addiction in any way? After reading about doses like Nicotine, I'm curious as to how it can be pulled off without making the brain think it's actual nicotine and become addicted. I'm not very bright so if someone could explain it to me that'd be great. Thanks.

for starters, it doesn't have any chemicals...like nicotine, which has... so it won't addict chemicly...

what i-doser does, it just changes your brainwaves for an effect, but it doesn't change you neural transmitors, like real drugs...

but if the doses work for u and at a level that is pretty good i think u would enjoy it enuff to a point where u like doing it often but addiction is a completely different thing thats where u spend ur entire day sitting at school and pay no attention to nething and u start to become angry because u cant have a smoke or anything and u just get really annoyed and mat at everyone so dont worry idoser shouldnt do that to u

Just try something that's more risk-free, but beware that the white noise will become irreplacable if you fall asleep to it too often.

By risk-free I mean doses like inspire or whatever, they haven't started working on me yet, but those are my two cents.

Anything you enjoy from chocolate to TV can form a psychological addiction if you like enough. So I suppose the answer is yes, you could potentially get addicted to I-Doser.

If you think I-Doser is fun, your brain releases dopamine[the "im having fun doing this" hormone], which you can get addicted to, but only pshychologically. Long word, i know :o.

^ That's true.

The whole thing about smoking -- yes, you can get addicted physically, but half of that is also mental addiction.

So psychologically, my guess would be yes, you could get addicted to things like this...but you already know it's not really nicotine/whatever dose you're using, so that probably cancels out any psychologically addictive effect.
