I learned recently, in a drug-based conversation with my father, that we have salvia growing in our backyard. I am very curious to try it, and my father said he would supervise my trip. I am concerned though. How would I know that the salvia we are growing is the divinorum strain?

It is very unlikely to be the Divinorum strain. Until recently it was only found in Oaxaca and there are a lot of other varieties.

It isn't likely just to end up with Divinorum when buying a Salvia plant unless that was specifically what you wanted. Another thing to consider is you only very rarely get seeds from this plant (you make new ones from cuttings) so if it was grown from seeds it is also very unlikely to be Divinorum.

If you really want to try it there's plenty of placed to get it from.
