For sure - many doses tend to hit me minutes after I've done them.

I've always felt if a dose didn't have any lasting effect on me, even if it was very mild or short lived, then it wasn't a completely good dose. I've never had a dose effect me in the sound but not after it ends. I usually stay meditated for a while so it keeps the effects a little longer.
