In order for doses to work you need to be relaxed and focused with no outside distractions, so probably not.

Head down on desk at school with no one talking... maybe
Bright lights, people talking, and doing schoolwork... not at all

Take an advil.

I don't use them, but I suppose there is an upside and a downside.

They give you something to focus on, which can help, but at the same time your screen is probably bright and with your eyes open there is a lot more room for distraction.

Well, they aren't "music" per se. They are two frequencies close to one another that create a "beat". The frequency of that beat is matched by your brain, so you feel the effects that other things would cause your brain to act at those frequencies to do.
