Playing off of what Bastard said, if the tea doesn't work, try having something after that that won't dry your mouth out. I find tea always leaves my mouth feeling a bit dry, and making me more thirsty, so it's actually distracting if I have tea first, so experiment with that a bit. Maybe hot chocol...
