Okay, I'm suffering Error 481, and none of the suggested solutions seem to work for me after hours of struggle. Which leads to a couple deeper questions...
Why does this application have to care about our region codings in order to play sound?
Why does this application have to care if a picture is valid or not in order to play sound?
Why can't this application simply play sound with no fuss? Why is this a development challenge?
This company touts its professionalism, leadership, and credentials in the field. Why can't the software just WORK? This should *not* be rocket science.
Error 481 begs deeper questions...
I agree. I've been struggling too to get this program to work. I don't see why the program forces you to to load a useless picture you're not even going to stare at. After all, the FAQ itself says it's best to lie down with your eyes closed.
I'm not a software developer or anything, so I can't say whether programming for Windows requires workarounds for its Regional settings, but this is the only program I've come across that requires that.
I installed it on another computer, and it works fine, and the Regional settings are exactly the same. Thus, it can't be the Regional settings. Of course it's nearly impossible to locate the problem by sheer guessing.
Here's to hoping that a unique program like this gets fixed soon.
