Does the dose assist, or cause it?

Does the Astral Projection dose cause Astral Projection, or do you have to use an Astral Projection technique? From what I've heard from the experiences, I'm really interested.

It supposedly boosts the astral, so you can get into it easier. I tried it once for like 15 minutes, my right hand and left hand got really numb and it stayed like that for 5 minutes, plus I had to pee. So.. Didn't work for me, will try it again and I also want to have a lucid dream so bad aswell as an AP
