This brings up an interesting point: can we learn to induce or replicate the effects of I-Doser through sheer willpower? Can the mind be trained to trip on its own?

Oh yeah. What Ness said is true.
Unfortunately, i think if people do get a placebo effect and haven't done the drug before, then they're not experiencing the actual drug. I mean, if you've never skii'd before, and then do cocaine and get an effect, how do you know it's actually the cocaine effect?
