Sorry about not getting back on topic, but I must comment when it comes to thrash! Megadeth has the best riffs out of any bay area thrash band, hands down. I play bass in a thrash band, we cover that kind of shit all the time, and the Megadeth songs are always the real ass-kickers! Mustain/Ellefson = gods.
I would give Exodus the award for lyrics, however, and Testament has the most kick-ass solos imo.

Don't forget about W.A.S.P. Have you ever really listened in on the lyrics in Peace Sells. Good Mourning-Black Friday is a masterpiece. My opinion. Testament is great aswell. Never heard any of Exodus' stuff.
