I can recommend a few that I know work. I have used them all and they all have great sound with the exception of the UpRock. They sound a little cheap but much better than other headphones of the same price.

i'm planning to buy this when it comes out, but do you know pony if it will good for dosing? since its 7.1 and some more stuff in it, since the admin said something that 7.1 headsets works bad for dosing i think.

No it will work fine. Admin stated that enhancements may hinder it because the doses are designed to be used without. But 7.1 surround isnt an enhancement. Its environmental submersion. The astro headset i listed is 7.1 optical and i find they work well.

Here's the deal on so called enhancements from my point of view anyway. Anything that subdues the frequency response may interfere with the effect. So some do and some don't. A perfect example of something that does interfere is an equalizer which accentuates certain frequency bands and dampens others. Another is bass boost which basically does the same thing on the low end. Cheap so called 3D sound will do the same thing. Now on the other hand there are modulations that actually enhance the audio quality which is actually the opposite of muddying it up.

In the end though this is all subjective and you could for instance take something like MEDIA Revolution and do all sorts of sick things to these tracks to make some substantial improvements in the effects if you have the skill, the time, and the patience. This is basically the same thing as taking a music track which you like and turning it into something you love. The only real measurement here is the subjective experience, in other words, what ends up getting you off more, for lack of a better phrase

So when I read things like don't mess with things that kind of sets me off a bit since it's really about you and you will know what you like in the end. So if you have some crappy bass boost and you turn it on and you like a dose better, while that's unlikely, the proof is always in the pudding. While the design of these tracks are pretty esoteric, the effects are not something that requires any more understanding than the ability to experience them.

By the way you can't get surround sound with headphones, they are 2 channel max of course, although the thing may indeed color the sound, perhaps in a negative way, perhaps not. So if you were to ask me I'd say that regardless of what you have in mind, there's no harm to give it a try, and you will be and are the final judge here ;)

I just have to correct you. My astro gamin head set has multiple speakers in each ear. Its true surround sound. And it is optical too which is a little blinking red light. Whats to say that the input is any different than say a coax. Its a matter of qulity really. But my astros are not the only 7.1 headphones avalible. There are many heasphones that offer full imersion.
