do any of you listen to a dose... and you not even try to but your eyes open?
but after that the little bit of light enhances the closed eye visuals.

It happens to me all the time.
I try to look into the darkness of closed eyes and they open slowly...
I don't usually have closed eye visuals.

Thats normal if you are lying too long without moving, because REM state wants to set in

eyes...
