i-doser setup damages win 98 libraries

hi, since there is no linux version for idoser i resorted to the windows installer. once rebooted in my historical but working windows 98 partition i ran the installer and rebooted. soon i remembered why I abandoned the MS world years ago: troubles !
it appears that something is gone wrong with OLEAUT32.DLL  . the system cant access the library, most applications -rescue ones too-just plain dont work -cant even browse files :crybaby: . idoser itself complain about the 'missing' library (which actually is in place)
now, since my antivirus -AVG- at the same time decided that it was time for an upgrade, and installed a new version of itself i cant tell for sure what of the 2 installs went bonkers. so my question is: does the installer replace the oleaut 32 file ? have I to restore and rgsrv a previous copy of that file ? and what files beside the ole automation library stuff is replaced ? having previously dealt with crappy installers maybe i have some chance to fix the windows install, with some help from your side, if actually the failure comes from i-doser.

Read my post on the support forum, its easy to fix!

or just read this lol

Yeah it's a problem that i had

It's easy to fix without reinstalling windows

1.Put windows 98 / SE disk into disk drive
2.goto start>run type "SFC" (without quotes) hit enter
3.Click extract 1 file from installation disk
4.Type in "OLEAUT32.DLL" (without quotes) hit enter
5.In the "restore from" box type "C:\windows\options\cabs\" (without the quotes) leave restore to as it is ("C:\windows\system")
6.Hit enter and wait
7.It will tell you if it's successful
8.Reboot

Enjoy :D :-D :P

PS can anyone tell me where to get V3?
