Earphones

I haven't been able to get positive results with this program, and I think it may have to do with the earphones I'm using. I've been using my zune earphones (very similar to ipod). Tonight I'm going to try a few doses using a headset (open ear). Is it possible that I'm not feeling the effects because I'm not using covered ear equipment?
