Question about Trip, hallucingogens, and other doses...

Well I was wondering, I notice many people caliming alongside with closed eye visuals (lights, and images) during the trip dose, when they opened their eyes DURING THE DOSE still playing they had open eye visuals (colors and distortion)... also many other doses (not just the psychadelics) are suposedly able to give experiences visually during a dose.
I was wondering... is it best to keep my eyes completely closed during the trip dose and find effects AFTER the dose ends? Or can I have either BETTER or just some effects during the dose and opening my eyes?
If this makes any sense haha basically.
