IT WORKED!

Okay, I had a lucid dream last night, and it was amazing! I've been trying to have them using the old-fashioned methods, (Reminding yourself of your conciousness during the day, telling yourself you're going to lucid dream, keeping a dream journal...) and it hasn't worked. The most I've gotten from that is a bunch of dreams that are amazing, but I can hardly remember them when I wake.

I have to tell someone about it, so I'm posting my account here. But before I start, I have to say I have a very random train of thought, therefore VERY random dreams. I'm not even kidding. Everything from saving the world to walking on water to rollercoasters have been in my dreams, in one night.

Anyway. I went to sleep around eleven, after about 20 minutes of i-Doser. Then my alarm went off at 6:15, (I was very angry, it's saturday...) and I walked over there, turned it off, went back to bed immediately.

It was then I was in a small one-room building, a school house of some sorts. My Technology Education teacher was there, Mr. Seymour. He's my favorite teacher of all time, and I'm in yearbook, too, and he's the teacher for that.

He looked at me and said, "Chelsea, have you completed the paper I gave you?"

I remember laughing or something. "NO. I must be dreaming, there's no PAPERS I need to do." I was sorta startled that I said that, but tried to smother it because I've read that people wake up when excited, and I wanted to experience something. So I randomly ran to the door, and began the first thing that came to mind that I've always wanted to do. Flyyyyyyyyy!

Then suddenly all my friends in my Tech Ed class were there behind me, and I said to them, "Comeon guys, let's go!" And I took a running start, and started flying. But it was more a low-floating at first, because I'm afraid of heights, but I gained confidence and went really high. I remember flying over this swamp-land place, with lots of flowers, and seeing a sign that says "WELCOME TO SOUTH CAROLINA". (My best friend lives there, so that's where that comes from...)

And then I woke up. I remember laughing when I did, even though I was a little disappointed I didn't get to do anything else. But it was incredible. I didn't think i-Doser would work, because honestly, the whole idea at first sounded rediculous. But if it wasn't the cause of this breakthrough, then what is? I'm so happy right now! :D

Do any of you have similar experiences? Don't be shy =]

P.S: This is my first try, I'm going to try again tonight and hope it helps again!

That's a myth.

Can you find me any actual proof of it being true?

if that worked, it would be the new way for suicidals. just saying.

but I doubt it is true.

First off I would like to congratulate Chelsea on her first lucid dream, for they truly are an amazing experience. As for those of you wondering about the dying in your dream myth I would just like to state that it is entirely false. In my constant dreaming of nightmares I have died multiple times only to wake up and find that I am still well and breathing. Those were the very reasons I was turned on to lucid dreaming, for once I had mastered it I could finaly dream in peace.

In sharing this with all of you I do not look for empathy concerning my deathly nightmares as they are in the past now, I only hope to encourage you all to continue the path to lucidity as it can be a beautiful and life changing experience!

Suppressing nightmares can't possibly be healthy.

I think that if you could die in LD's, than you could die in regular dreams, too. I mean, it's the same unconcious state, just with a different awareness. Dying in your sleep when you die in a dream, with my 8th-grade-knowledge, seems logical if you're so into the dream that you're physically into it too... Like, my brother says he feels pain in his sleep.

But I also think that if anyone, even one person, were to EVER die in their sleep of no natural causes, then the media would have the subject covered like mad. We would know about it by now. But then again, who knows what our governement keeps from us...

To sum up my jumbled thoughts: If you fear dying from lucid dreams, fear dying from regular dreams too. Even thought it's very, very unlikely. =]

I don`t think that you can die. I`ve been dreaming that I`m falling from a plane with no parachute for no reason (because few seconds ago I was with my friend flying over the corn field.. wtf? :x ) anyway I couldn`t undertsand that I`m dreaming. And when I was falling, I felt shudder in my stomach, it feels like I`m going to piss all stuff around  anyway, sometines I hit the ground, and after that I`m rapidly teleported to other place wich has no fkin sence , or I wake up...

Ok, somebody tell me this. How can someone confirm the "if you die in your dream you die in real life" myth. If they die in their dream then they die in real life so they can't tell you or prove it. Sure, scientists can try to back it up with evidence but it is just speculation.

Anyway, I have had a similar dream. Id be in school and remember it was a dream I would say something like "to hell with this" and go to sleep in my dream which would usually make me wake up haha. I also remeber the ones where I won a chunk of money or I got a game only to wake up, look around, figure out I didn't have the money, mutter an obscenity to my self, and then go back to bed :D

If that was true, they couldn't prove it.
How would they know what you were dreaming before you died?

you always wake up before you die, dumbasses. the only reason you could die is from shock because you think you're dying, but if you're that shocked you wake up. anyone ever dreamed theyre falling then wake up in a cold sweat? thats why

and anyway, i-doser had nothing to do with it. you were thinking about lucid dreams and when you wake up and go back to sleep, thats the best time to have lucid dreams. you are much more likely to have them in that case. so it was a coincidence, the only thing i-doser did was get you thinking about ld's so you had one.

Exactly, all these people who think you'll actually die because you died in your dream are high or something.
It's just a dream, no matter how real it is, thats all!

Your body is still going to involunatarily keep you breathing and whatnot!
