I dont have and will probably never get enough money to buy the recommended headphones or a set with the same specks. The only headphones i have are the A4Tech MK-650 Earbuds. The specifications (according to the A4Tech web site) are as follows:

Specifications:
Speaker:Ø 10mm
Sensitivity:102 dB/mwat 1KHz
Impedance:32 Ω
Frequency Response:20Hz-20KHz
Plug Type:Ø3.5mm Stereo
Weight:14g
Cable Length:55in.

If these will not work, please tell me which headphones will, and are cheap.
thanks

They look fine to me, as long as the Frequency Response is 20Hz-20KHz, then you'll be fine (and since these earphones Frequency Response is 20Hz-20KHz, they'll be fine!)

Oh and in my experience, in the ear earbuds actually work better then over the ear headphones...

For some reason my in-ear headphones never worked for me, but oh well.

Thanks for your insight, but I read on wikipidia that for binural beats to have its full effect, the headphones need to be able to play frequencys that the human ear cannot hear. For example, the human ear can't hear frequencys under 20 Hrz, while some doses play at a frequency under 20 Hrz like 18 Hrz. Does this play into it in any way or does it matter?

That article is wrong then (just like more than half of wikipedia). Because the fact that the human ear can't distinguish those low frequencies, binaurals use carrier frequencies that are different in each ear (often ranging anywhere from 100 to as high as 600 hz), the difference between the 2 frequencies being played is the frequency that the brain will sync to. I've never seen a beat with carriers lower than 50.

Thanks much guys. I now have peace of mind a I'm totally prepared to squeeze everything out of I-doser that it has to offer. I know that it works ( my friend, who for the sake of descrestion I'll call guy, has the proper headphones, listened to HoG [!] and spent an hour hiding in a corner in the fetal position.)but was unsure if my earphones were up to the task.
