Looking at visual things like that will screw up the entrainment (external visual stimuli at different frequencies than the tones). If you're doing a non-"hallucinogenic dose" then surfing sites that are just text or instant messaging you can kill the time and get some of the same physical effects, but for the "hallucinogenic" doses then you should definitely keep your eyes closed for quite a bit of it.
