Need to ask something...

Post by CUBEert »

Well a few weeks ago the members of my science class were asked to pair up and come up with a science project to go forward to a regional competition...I sugested to my partners that we do a project on "to prove that different sounds have different effects on different peoples brains"....I chose this beacuse i had heard about this I-Doser program....I was just wondering...am I going against any rules or regulations or copyrights by using and making reference to the program in the project?....If i am...I'm in big trouble because the competition in 2 weeks away and my entrence form has been sent off. :?

I hope you know for the experiment to actually count you'll need an EEG to measure their brainwaves to see if they're the same as the freqencies of the beats , otherwise they could just say "Oh, it's probably placebo". And if you don't want to name the company then just say binaural beats and say you are testing it with "commercially available recreational binaural beats". Good luck!

Another quick question.
one of out "subjects", my father, is more or less deaf in one ear..could that effect the dose working? I thought it would prevent any effect but he's insistant that it will work weather or not he's partially deaf.

It wouldn't work as well, each ear needs to hear the sine waves because the brain entrains to the frequency difference of the beats playing in each ear. There are other methods of brainwave entrainment that don't require both ears, and there are always visual methods too, but I don't know if talk of those is permitted here, you can email me if you want some more info, otherwise I'll post and risk it being deleted.

Nah the project is only about sounds so I can't be letting myself get distracted by visual programs...but thanks anyway :)

OK, that's fine, I was just saying that if you can't use binaurals there are several other methods.
