Hi,
I have a Mac computer, so the i-doser program won't work on my computer, and thus i can't play the .drg files. Before i go and spend money on this i was wondering if there was anyway i could get the 3 free doses from registering in mp3 format?
Thank you

I don't think so, the mp3 doses are completely different believe it or not, they just deliver the same affects..doubt it, but if you really want it you'll have better luck emailing them.

Alright, thanks. Just out of curiosity, do you know why the .drg and mp3 files are different / what the difference is and if one is more effective than the other?

.drg's are MUCH more effective... mp3's will not work because you lose quality when you convert it to mp3.
you can however get a wav file of it.
edit: also a flac file wont lose quality.

Well according to the I-Doser staff THEIR mp3's still work, or are theirs even less effective the .drg's. Obviously pirated mp3's will either a) not work or b) be worse.

I'd like to see light on this "mp3 don't work" thing.
- The company does indeed sell doses in wav format (for CD players) and mp3 format (for iPod and the likes), so we can expect it to work as well as drgs. I don't think they would sell them in a format that worked worse.
- Binaural beats do not rely on specific frequencies or quality, it relies on stereophony. You would have to dramatically reduce the mp3 bitrate to alter the quality because doses aren't music but "noise".
So it depends on the conversion method, if the left and right channels are mixed (but kept in symmetrical stereo), the dose will have no effect.
- Maybe this rumour was started both by people who wanted to discredit the illegal mp3 available and by users of the application who thought that some users didn't feel anything because they used the mp3 instead of the app.
I am a new user and don't have enough experience to tell the felt difference between drg, original mp3 and converted mp3.
I have the Windows application and mp3s downloaded from BT, but I don't know if they are authentic, they seem to be since they have metadata.
