It hurts!

Hi guys!

I tried yesterday my first "dose", French Roast from the free gift package.
I don't have headphones so I used earphones, just to try the effect.
Quiet ambient, dark room, relax... You know.
And low volume - about 3 or 4 on the slide, for sure not maxed out on my PC.
Equalizer off.

All right (OK, nothing, but I wasn't expexting a miracle) for the first two or 3 minutes, then all of a sudden a freaking pitch sound let my right ear scream in pain!
In less than i second I removed the earphones, and my ear kept hurting for some minute.
Then it become less painful, but this thing continued for hours - at least 12.
Every now and then my right ear started hurting for three or four seconds.

So, was I incredibly unlucky or this kind of thing is common?
I searched the whole forum and googled more than a bit, but no one reported a similar effect.

Thanks in advance!

Have you had ear problems in the past? It is really uncommon for something like that to happen, but you could have reacted to the sound badly. If I were you I'd go and get my ears checked

Never ever had ears problem.
I keep listening to music, watching tv and such.
The pain is gone today, but I'm still scared to try again...

You might've had the earphone pushed too far in, or probably had the volume too high.

that sounds like a problem with your PC and/or earphones... sometimes if the jack begins to come out of the plug, it can create a sort of feedback and cause a high pitched "Wheeeeeeeeeeeee"
