"The physiological effect of a placebo depends upon its suggested or anticipated action."
So yes, it means that something will happen in your body because you expect it to. I-doser uses Binaural beats, which have been proven to have psychological effects, though the extent to which they can effect you is still under study.

In my opinion, I don't think it's just a placebo effect with i-doser, at least not for me. For example:
- I had high hopes for gamma, hashQH, and 5-HTP, and they didn't do much, if anything, for me. So despite me thinking they'd give me a powerful experience, they didn't.
- I had low expectations for RAVE, Alpha, and Content. I just didn't think they'd work, but they really surprised me and worked great!
So, that's just my experience. I honestly think there's a lot more to this than a placebo effect.

ill try to explain Placebo Effect to you very simply.
Ok...10 people have a headache ... a doctor gives them all an empty gel pill (a pill with no medicine in it) .. 7 people say they feel all better after taking it and that the pill worked great.
Those 7 people experienced a placebo effect
They thaught that the pill had medicine in it that would take their headache a way ... so their headache did go away even tho no medicine was in the pill
... Placebo Effect ...Understand?
