First Experience...

This question could very well sound really really dumb. However, I need to ask it.

Anyway, today was my second dose of all time. I tried awhile back Anathesia, and never really felt anything and gave up. However, I recently came across I-Doser again and wanted to give it another go.

I got out my nice pair of headphones and started listening to 5HTP. Halfway through, my comp died (battery), and I rebooted and started playing Opium. I sat there in the dark relaxed, trying to focus on the sounds, and I watched the fullscreen visual that comes with the PC app. I didnt really feel any effects, then gradaully, I dont really remember it happening, my eyes closed and I *think* I fell asleep. However, I somewhat question this because I a)wasnt tired and b)I also was somewhat interrupted by a roommate and I clearly heard what he said even though I was "sleeping".
Also, by the time I was done, I was in a jolly good mood and was kinda bouncy and bubbly for the next hr or so. But no other effects besides that.

Two questions
1)did I fall asleep or get into a trance?
2)Is this a good successful result? or only a partial result? or a placebo?

What is your opinions?

Hmmm, I would say that you probably got into a trance. I say this because you still heard what your roommate said. Whenever I do fall asleep with I-Doser, I remember absolutely nothing.

Because 5HTP is an antidepressant and is supposed to make you feel bubbly and happy, I would say you got the effects. Congrats, I still can't get that one to work for me. :D

I disagree.
Trances are nothing like sleeping. Do people know what the meaning of trance is? It's a state of thought where your mind is highly suggestable, and your thoughts can be easily altered by your imagination.

OP, even if you don't think you were tired, binaural beats can easily cause you to get tired. Many times people will fall asleep because they aren't keeping their conscious mind active whilst dosing. I suggest using a concentration technique, or something of the sort, to keep your conscious active and concentrated.

If you fell asleep, you got some rest. Supposedly 30 minutes of normal sleep, is much weaker than 30 minutes of binaural sleep; its very likely you fell asleep while listening and felt better when you woke up due to the binaurals, not 5HTP.

To answer you straightforward:

1. You most likely fell asleep, or were half-asleep.
2. You got little to no results if you didn't feel the opium. Placebo is not something I would even consider in this situation because you didn't actively concentrate on the tones (because you fell asleep)

Glad to help!
