Best Dose for Hypnagogic Imagery?

I have a really hard time getting into this state, but I'd like to do it. Anyone know a good dose for that? Also, should this be done before bed or in the middle of the night for best results?

I realize this is not part of normal LD at all, but can come before a WILD.

I always queue up LucidQH and Sleeping Angel; in that order. I have never had a lucid dream before no matter what meditation methods I used. I have yet to be let down by LucidQH though. You don't have to do Sleeping Angel but I feel as if my hypnagogic visualizations are A LOT more intense when I do.
