Sound settings

Ok, after just doing a dose, randomly a sound setting thing popped up(I couldn't find it before) and there are some things I'm unsure about.
1. I believe it should be off, but just in case should the "optimize bass routing" be on or off?
2. On equalization should all the little hz/khz buttons be on zero? Because that's where they are already but I don't know.
3. What the hell is opacity, it's at 100%, and does it matter?
Ok, maybe I need to give more information...
When I move my mouse over optimize bass routing it says: This setting enables bass management. Bass management enhances or redirects frequencies below a specified crossover frequency to reduce loss or distortions of bass signals...On or off?
Then underneath is something else that can be put at either 3.0dB, 6.0dB, 9.0dB, 12.0dB and says this: This setting determines the levels for the lowest frequencies this device can play. I really don't know if this only applies if the above is on...
Equalization has 31Hz-16kHz buttons that if you move up or down changes the dB. They're all set at 0 dB, is that right?
ok Opacity I looked up and got sound transperency and a person on Yahoo answers said it means your equipment blocks nothing and passes everything..Yeah I'm gonna make a judgement call and just keep this on 100%..
Any help on the other two is greatly appreciated.
