They're the two largest families of psychedelics. They're named such because they have the tryptamine and phenethylamine backbones, respectively. IN GENERAL, tryptamines act more on serotonin and phenethylamines more on dopamine, but that is a massive generalization. Really, seperating them into tryptamines and phenethylamines is more useful when talking about chemistry than the effects of the chemicals.
Honestly, I don't have enough experience with exotic psychedelics to detail the differences, but I would imagine that a primarily dopamine substance would produce a more "get up and go" trip than a primarily serotonin one, although like I said, these are huge generalizations. Shrooms and LSD are very, very similar as far as the regions of the brain they affect, but shrooms tend to knock me on my ass and LSD is very energizing.
The 2C, 5-MeO, and 4-AcO families aren't easy to come by. I think they're more common outside of the US and are easy to get if you know the right people. I, however, don't know the right people
2C-B is pretty cool, effects remind me of LSD but so totally different, i find the best synthetic combo is 2C-I+2C-E with about 110 mg of MDMA. I guarantee a spectacularly life changing journey with that combination.
Awesome, yeah i guarantee u will love 2C-E, i reccomend you have a good supply of cannabis for that night, thoughts and conversations with yourself inside your head can get pretty intense
