HEADphones VS EARphones!! Which do you prefer?

I'm very new to this and havent really gotten any good results and I was wondering which is better headphones or earphones? What do you guys think? If there is something better than this then please post!

Personally I prefer earphones but I don't see why it should make a difference.

If you can hear the beats you can hear the beats.

Well it depends...

If you can have a quite time you should use Earphones... But if there is a lot of disturbance where you live, simply use Headphones...

Is it true that head phones are better than earphones? If so, then why is that?

The way people's ears and ear canals are shaped effects how well earhphones will work. It's easier to improperly "install" earphones. Headphones help do away with that. Not all headphones are better, but I have yet to see any recording engineer use earphones as dedicated reference peices.
