How do you use roast coffee and other uppers?

I have used downer doses such as anesthesia and opium and they worked great when i lay down with my eyes closed. However, with doses like roast coffee, cocaine and chakra I am not sure whether to take them lying down in the dark or sitting up in the light. Surely lying still in the dark is not going to produce optimum results in terms of getting energised. People who have successfully used "uppers" please help!

ohh, just lay in bed, light or not just make sure that you concentrate.
thats all that matters, the amount of concentration you put into it. just do what you did with anesthesia and all those others
and it WILL work
