Sound Card Options (3d emulated sound and whatnot)

Should I be turning off all fancy thingamabobs to listen to this? Like the x-fi's cmss 3d? (When enabled i get a COMPLETELY different noise..... the noises are total beep beep beep in different ears where as with it off i get a nearsolid beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep)

and the crystilizer and things all off? Also if it helps any i'm on an auzentech prelude 7.1 and sennheiser 595HD's

Well, I've read that my soundcard, Realtek AC'97 is always based on surround whether the options have been changed to stereo or not, so I turn off the acceleration to have it emulated and turn off the 3D.
