Why do you have to concentrate?

I don't understand why you have to concentrate on the beats to work... As long as you can clearly hear them with headphones on, they should work normally.

yeah JiggaJigga got the idea, and there are hidden tones you have to listen for...not neccesarily find them, just focus on it to hear all the tones and get all the effects.

But it's not as if you "open" your ears. Wouldn't the beats be affecting you subconciously, anyways?

I think your mind would be more aware of the beats, timings and the hidden patturns and shit if you concentrated more so they would me more effective. As JiggaJigga said Its just like listening to music if you arnt focused on it 100% you can daze out and not hear notes lyrics drums bass and vocals, shit like that heres an example I like pantera one of my fav bands one of my favorite solos is in the song floods i listen to that song sometimes while doing other shit and dont really get into it but when the solo comes on and im rocking it i get an amazing feeling like hairs on my neck standing on end and shit because i get the full of it and not just bits and peices.

Oh and like JiggaJigga some people like diffrent types of music Like some people have good feeling and bad feelings from diffrent styles of music thats why i think some of the doses effect some people better and worse than others because their mind is more acceptable to diffrent sounds, patturns,beats and all that jazz.

Everything you do alters your brainwaves in some way. You need to make sure the beat is the only source doing so.
