End Alert Noise FIX!!!

Post by Xusk »

So your annoyed by that Asterisk noise at the end of each dose? Well here's how to fix it.
(Useing Windows XP)
1. Hit your Imagebutton, then go to 'Control Panel'.
2. Find and click, 'Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices'
3. Again, find and click 'Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices'
4. Now you'll see tabs\buttons at the top of the screen, "Volume, Sounds, Audio, Voice, Hardware'. Hit the 'Sounds' tab. Now you will see under, 'Pogram events', 'Asterisk'. Click on this, now below you should see 'Sounds' with a drop down box below it. Hit the 'Arrow' button and scroll up untill you see the selection 'None' and click it.
5. Now hit 'Apply', next to cancel.
6. Pat on the back!!! Maybe a beer, some cookies, pizza?.
For the computer illiterate, i've included a picture which follows each step.

That's indeed the right course of action for the desperate...

However, the asterisk sound is generally useful to those who have it set up.

I'd still rather see the sound removed by the app, rather than me disabling a system sound.

People could always re-enable it, if they like hearing the noise at other times. By following the same steps, just re-enableing it at the end instead of chooseing none. Since it's part of the computer's OS and not the program. But im sure the makers can do something if needed.

For me, i've replaced all noises with something more pleaseing to the ears. Like the Mr.Hankey The Christmas Poo song when I turn off my computer or a Howdy Ho when I turn on the computer.
