Question about DXM

So, I was talking to my friend recently, about DXM, and I've been wanting to try it for a good while (I've never tripped before off of any real drugs) , and he gave me some advice on what stuff to get, but I'm looking for some extra opinions.

He told me to get 1-2 of bottles of "Zicam Cough Max" nasal spray, and he said to try 1 bottle first (he also said they taste like ass. XD ).

He told me that I should expect to puke at some point, and that I'll likely feel effects within an hour of drinking it.

Also, he said to do it in some place that's somewhat dark since it plays on your perception of things. And he said that it's probably a good idea to not eat anything for 4-6 hours, before doing this, and after i down the bottle, that i should probably have a drink of something else, eat a few crackers, or toast or something and if i had any, smoke some weed.

Err.. Some other random stuff he said, that like... after i puke (if i do), it will probly feel really good, and if i feel the need to move around that i should roll around the floor or something and it will feel godly.

That's about all i can remember him telling me.. err just wondering if anyone can add anything else that i might expect while on DXM? or even verify if what was said above is true? I trust him and all, but it's always nice to have some extra opinions.

Erm... One last thing, my friend never really explained what kinda stuff I'm sposed to see (i realise that it's going to be different for everyone), but am i going to see shit that isn't there, or morphed objects... or .. will colors be switched around or? what sorta stuff?

Take some advice from an experienced DXM tripper.

Cough Gels all the way. I dont do DXM anymore but i got to a point when I could barely look at cough syrup without gagging. If you do throw up to keep it off for as long as you can to actually have a decent trip if that`s what you`re going for, although i have to say, the afterglow after puking is quite amazing. Try to do it on a nice day and go outside.
