Last Question, I swear.
Last Question, I swear.
Okay so I know these are probably getting annoying but. I always get itches when it's the worst time, usually when I'm doing something that requires me not to move. Since I keep trying to itch while using i-doser will that screw anything up?

You can save space by just asking in the same thread.DrJackel wrote:Okay so I know these are probably getting annoying but. Anyway, don't scratch, use the itch to your advantage. Next time you get an itch, focus your attention on a concentration technique like counting backwards or counting breaths. Eventually it gies away, and you are more focused than you were before.

It allows you to close your mind of stray thoughts. If you let your mind wander off, you will eventually forget you were listening to the tones at all. If you can keep your thoughts in one spot, you can't lose track of whats going on around you, like the sounds. You CAN do two things at once (listen, and count backwards) and get effects, but you cannot try to count, be able to listen to the tones, AND think about your day.DrJackel wrote:For some reason, I don't see how these concentration things help you concentrate on the beeps, wouldn't it just make you concentrate on the technique your using instead of the tones?
To actually answer your question, it does help you listen to the tones. You would think that it wouldnt, but its the same as seeing with your eyes, while listening with your ears. You can still concentrate on seeing, while hearing.
In short, it helps, don't let your thoughts drift.

The mind is a very powerful machine. If you start thinking of something, it will fade out everything around that thought. Did you notice that when you're working on something that requires a lot of attention you don't even notice time passing? It's the same with the beats.
Now to why does counting help concentrate. It helps because it is a simple task that your brain does easily. You will find (especially in the psychedelic doses) that when you will become focused enough on the beats, the counting will become automatic - you don't have to "think" about the numbers anymore. At that point, let yourself go and enjoy.
There's one thing i have to warn you about - some doses, when taken in the wrong state of mind, will frighten you. The best example is White Crosses, it can do really weird things to your mind. You have to always remember that nothing can hurt you, and that fear is your only enemy. Even when you get in a trance, if you get afraid of something and you want to wake up, you will wake up. And i bet your first thought will be "damn i screwed it up". Because once you do everything will be back to normal and you'll realize there was nothing wrong in the first place.
