First Dose - Downer? A good idea?

Post by sunflower »

I'm new to I Doser, but fascinated by what I've read and heard about it. So I wanted to ask some experienced users what could be a good first dose.

I don't want a "trip", or to hallucinate, or whatever. This would rather frighten me. All I want is a dose that I use for example in the evening, to calm down (not to sleep, I fall asleep easily anyway ;-)). I'm thinking of something that really calms me down, and makes me forget the world around. You know, a sedative that just takes distressing emotions away and helps to forget (still, for example, when someone disturbs me, it would be good if I could react in a normal way). A break from everyday life, so to say, the relaxing evening-thing ;-).

I read the descriptions of a lot of doses.

What reads good to me is Codeine and Downer. Codeine sounds perfect, but as I know I usually react stronger to things than normal, I think it could be a bit too much for me. Also, though they say "no dizziness", I'm fighting with dizziness/vertigo 24/7, so I don't want anything to worsen it.

Is Downer a good dose for beginners? What were your experiences?

Something that is important to me is that after a few hours or in the next morning, all the effects are gone so I'm able to do a normal day.

Edit: Well, I have to add this would be not my completely "first" dose, but my first longer dose. Already had French Roast which seems to enhance concentration, thinking is easier. Nice =).

Honestly, any dose that sounds okay to you, you should do.
If you really are scared, try it with a friend. Its easier and more fun

Well, I tried Downer... And was surprised.

I was able to relax!
This is new because I'm *never* able to relax. (One of my reasons to try binaural beats.)

Not the whole 20 minutes, but I lay down, and at 11 minutes opened my eyes and thought, well, maybe two minutes have passed, or has any time passed? I didn't care. Closed my eyes again then.
This may not sound unusual for lying comfortably on bed. To me, it is unusual. The last time I had such an experience was on the backseat in the car, 10 years ago.
While listening, thinking was very much slower than normal and sometimes there were absolutely no thoughts.

By now, I'm feeling calm, but concentrated, just still a bit "sedated" or drowsy whatever (not bad). I planned a hard test for the dose, doing a really nervy computer installation just after listening  . I was more patient and reacted cooler than usual.

Tomorrow I'll try it again, and I'm sure it will be even better because then the panic of trying something completely new won't be there anymore. This was something that wasn't taken away completely, but really really reduced.

Seems I found a cool thing :D .

I have issues with relaxing too, one of the reasons I like IDoser so much. I'd recommend starting with Codeine, and if you like that (which I don't know why you wouldn't) DXM (it's a great smooth) Demerol, Vico, Morphine. I'd actually also suggest trying Absinthe is you wanted to try something that didn't necessarily make you kind of sleepy, just good. It's not harsh at all, doesn't make you hallucinate. You feel dreamy and creative and it's a nice experience, good for beginners. I don't remember having much to any dizziness with it, though it's been a little while. It was one of the first I tried.
Happy dosing!

Absinthe wasn't so much what I thought of ;-) Rather Codeine and later Demerol.

Some noob-question... How does the Reset dose work? It's because I can maybe be undisturbed for 1-2 hours, but always have to be able to react normally - you don't live alone in a house. So for example, I'm listening to Codeine or OpiumQH, then play the Reset right after and I'm completely normal after that again? I want to avoid appearing strange, that's one of the reasons why I'm so careful with doses.

Nirvana..... beats content for me when you need to chill out.. they were similar but Content just made me feel really happy and in a good place.. Nirvana was more spiritual and unified feeling... also a slight natural high feel.

I have just done it, but i fell asleep without knowing and i woke up still unknown an hour later to find my dad wondering what i was doing. It was my first downer dose and it needs practice. But it happens to be the most relaxing sleep i have had in a long time so that would make me do it again.
