Did I get ripped off?
So I bought some weed for the first time today and Idk if I got ripped off or not. I paid $10 for what I was told was a gram, but it looks and feels like more than 1 gram. Also I smoked some for the first time last night and all I felt was a slight disorientation. Are you not supposed to get high your first time?

The answers to your questions all have to do with the quality of the weed.
As far as the quantity goes, it could be 2 grams, but if a gram and a half is stems, leaves and seeds, then you got ripped off. If it's 2 grams of bud, then your dealer's a nice guy.
The high side of it is a quality thing, too. Shitty weed, and you won't get much. Good, stinky dope, and one hit should send a first timer to stonerville.

Around here, we call good weed, 'dro' and normal weed 'reggie'.
Reggie usually goes for $5 a blunt. Dro goes for $10 a blunt. I'm not sure on the way shit is weighed (grams/ounces/whatever), but I leave the buying of mass quantities of weed to the people I get my weed from, anyway.
If it had a lot of sticks/stems, it's probably going to be absolutely shitty weed. If it didn't really smell like anything (people usually say it smells 'skunky'), then it may not have even been weed at all. It also depends on how you smoked it. I know that when I first started smoking weed, I made home-made pipes/bongs, and they were absolute shit.
Good weed can have sticks/stems, but not a huge amount. Buying weed the first couple times can suck, just because you need to figure out who's got the real shit and who's just selling schwag. Take it as a learning experience, and maybe ask around to find out who else smokes and who they get weed from. Chances are, you'll find a good connect with some good shit.
