One of the things I see being said all the time about I-Doser is that it's a placebo. I really have no idea whether this is true, but I was thinking that you could get someone who has never heard of I-Doser to sit down and listen to a dose without telling them what it's called or what it will do. Trouble is, I can't think of anyone who would be willing to listen to a repeating sequence of tones for 40 minutes just because you ask them to.
That's exactly what I meant when I said that no one would be willing to listen to one all the way through. And, concerning the placebo effect, I think you're underestimating the power of the human mind.drgdoser wrote:hate to bust your bubble bro but that wont work. getting a dose to work takes a lot of practice to get your mind to the proper meditative state. you cant just tell someone to listen to it and expect it to work, their mind would wander too much to take in the effects. if you want to know its not a placebo, listen to ecstasy or masochist and have a little faith in the people who get the big bucks
Edit: Thought I would clarify that I'm not saying either way whether or not this is just placebo effect; I honestly don't know. But it would be interesting to find out.
I'm currently looking into this. I have a friend who has displayed an interest in I-Doser; I plan on administering him with different doses at different times and recording the reactions. Personally, I have tried to replicate the effects of doses without the binaural beats and have been unsuccessful. Now I want to ultimately find out how strong the placebo is in comparison to solid reaction by having my friend practice and take doses, as well as use reset doses as a control dose.
Also, in testing doses myself, I have found positive results even when daydreaming and not focusing on the dose; I wasn't active, but I kept my brain active, and it still worked enough to beat chance.
More likely than not, when I get around to setting this up (I plan on testing over the course of at least one week), I will record my findings on my page on the Introductions thread.
