Effects of medication on dosing/Trying to dose with ADD

Post by Mindless »

I couldn't find any specific information so I figured I'm new and I'll post.

Okay, to start out I'm going to admit something I can't even admit to most people I know,
"I'm Bi-Polar". I have Bi-Polar 2 and also ADD. I have to take Lamictal (Lamotrigine) On a daily basis,
and I also take Ritalin (Wow, thanks spell-check, thanks for letting me know that the "R" in Ritalin should be capitalized.)

Anyway, is it possible that the mood regulation medication is affecting my dosing?
I'm never supposed to take mushrooms, acid, etc. I do love to smoke some fun stuff though  , but can't at the moment due to drug testing :P I would love to try be able to have the effects of hallucinogens,
and also be able to try some of the more exotic doses.

I also have a HELL of a time focusing on dosing, I don't get it. I've had a little bit of success with some of the doses, but it's not consistent. I have a pair of recommended headphones and they NEVER work for me.
I have two floorstanding speakers with woofers, midrange drivers, and tweeters. And they've actually worked for me even though they say to use headphones.

Sadly I fall asleep while dosing most of the time.
Any advice?

I am not sure how you made speakers work for you but somehow you did.
Anyways read my guide to meditation. http://www.i-doser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10307
Also it has been suggested that dosing during the day works better.
Your not having to wind down after a long day and you keep calm better.
Other than that it should work. Just keep practicing. There are people who
try for months with no result and finally it clicks for them.

Thank you!

I should learn to meditate anyway, the bi-polar makes my mind race and then it becomes really hard
to focus.

With my speakers I can hear the deep tones, and also it sounds like the sound is sliding across my ears
and getting into my head. It sounds really different compared to the headphones.
Is that how it should sound?

BTW, I'm using a pair of JVC HA-RX500 headphones.

Well we cant tell you exactly how good your headphones are but I will tell you I dont like JVC. They are cheap and usually dont have good sound. But I wrote a guide for picking your headphones out http://www.i-doser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10385 I believe its possible your getting an effect from the stereo because its pumping out the quality you need. Like you described when I dose I can hear a wave that feels like its bouncing back and forth in my skull. So take a look at your headphones.

Thanks, I just read it.

Is there a site that you recommend for being able to track down quality headphones, like a good trustworthy review site or something? I'm currently barely working so I'm not even sure if I can afford them. But nonetheless at least I'd know.

Yeah, except for the fact that mine are broker than me! :P

Wow those are only $30 on average? That's crazy, that's what I paid for this crappy JVC's.

I guess I'll give those a shot.

The two sounds probably mixed and formed monaural beats, a stronger form of binaural beats and can be listened to through speakers. That's probably what happened.
