Same Dose Twice?

If perhaps you were to do the same dose twice. Would this double the effects of the dose? Such as make them twice as strong? Or will it just plain mess you up.

Because lets say one dose isn't working to its full potential. If you were to repeat it directly after you would get it to work right?
