The title kinda says it all, but, do headphones increase effect in any way, and does closing one's eyes help certain doses?

Headphones or Ear buds are required yet headphones deliver much better quality.

And your eyes should be closed on most doses, unless you are expecting open-eye visuals.

As -Almost stated, headphones or earbuds are a requirement. Binaural Beats are designed to enter each ear separately, so using external speakers nullifies any chance of results. The better the sound quality and the more the headphones damper external noises, the more likely you are to get stronger results.

As for closing your eyes, the idea is that when you relax your body to a state of near-sleeping your brain will start to decompress and in the process change binaural brainwave patterns. Using I-Doser doses, you can influence your brain to go to a specific brainwave pattern; so, staying still or even laying down is pretty key, and closing one's eyes isn't a bad idea. For open-eye visual hallucinations, you may be able to experience them even after the dose ends; I had auditory hallucinations for around 40 minutes after using half of a Trip dose.

Thanks for the help, they work much better now, as for open eye hallucinations, what dose seemed to bring about the best results and do most of these effects kick in after the dose finishes?

I have yet to experience open-eye hallucinations, but from looking around it seems like Trip is a basic dose that may provide them, as well as White Crosses or Black Sunshine. However, Peyote seems to be pretty strong in terms of the creation of clear open-eye visuals.

Some people report having them when using marijuana, and likewise I would assume the new dose "Hash" would suffice as well. You may need to just experiment a bit to find what you personally react to; also, I hear A-Bomb is quite the intense trip if you're looking for that.
