How do you adjust the stereo headphones settings?

Like the title says - How do you adjust your audio settings to "Stereo Headphones"?

1.Start>ctrlpanel>Sounds and audio>under speaker settings, click advanced>change speaker setup to stereo headphones.
2.From sounds and audio under device volume>make sure there the slider is set to the middle of ballance.

thats it.

Thanks for that, I didn't know you actually had to change the settings, the sound is a lot better now compared to before when I just plugged my headphones into my speakers.

Protip: plug headphones directelly into computer, if possible.

Thanks for the tips clowd, especially that last one about plugging directly into the computer. Keep us updated if you find any more.

i cant find this on my computer, have anything for people with vista...i hate this new operating system.
