what am I doing wrong?

Okay well I tried QuickHappy first with my ipod headphones and shut my eyes, completed the "dose" and nothing happened, whether it be during or after. 20 minutes later i tried Nitrous. Nothing either. What am i doing wrong? should i concentrate even harder on the sound? should i keep my eyes open?
