Whats the process to use a dose?

What is the process to using a dose. I have peyote,marajuana, opium,multiple orgasm, astral, and cocaine. I tried the astral and it somewhat worked. it felt like i was spinning for like 10 seconds. Also i dont know the exact way to using one. Here is what i do. I relax,then lay down,close my eyes, then listen. but are you supposed to feel the effects only during or after?
