Earphones

I have crappy 5-dollar earphones and I'm just wondering if it's possible for an I-dose to work on one of those because I've tried Quick-Happy close to 20 times and it's only worked once (and a what an amazing feeling that was). Should I spend 30 dollars on headphones just to make this stuff work even though it's worked for me once on low-quality earphones?
