Having difficulties

Post by Zizoo »

No matter how I go about using the doses, they will not work.... I am only using ones that i-doser's got right now, so I can get help figuring out what I'm doing (I mention it in my sig).... I concentrate on the sounds as closely as I can while laying in my bed comfortably with my eyes closed (I also tried open) and with the lights out, and I ensure that there are no distractions. The doses, however, do not seem to work. The closest I got to a functional dose was the out-of-body dose, wherein I found that I could do certain things that would normally take me hours of relaxed meditation (I try, but I suck. It may have to do with some of the mental disorders I have. Mostly my ADD I think.). Namely, numbness and the ability to feel as though I am moving a limb slightly when I actually am not, or limited free movement from my body, as it were.

In any case, can anyone help me figure out ways in which I may be able to improve the dose effectiveness that I have not mentioned my having done?

-EDIT-
I thought that perhaps I may have a better time of it if I don't think about it very much and don't get relaxed (my logic is fuzzy).... As expected this also did not work. *Was attempting Divinorum while posting on the forum.*

I did. In fact, I looked around all on this forum before I asked, not wanting to be bothersome unnecessarily. That's what I did when I got out-of-body to (sort of) work. I had heard these steps before, and used them when trying self-hypnotism, but never really succeeded I had hoped the sounds and stuff would help me.... I'm too restless, no matter how hard I try to relax.... I have a sleep aid medicine which I'm no longer taking, but, having spoken with the doctor about it, this medicine is safe to resume any time(only on the levels I am taking it at, I use "amitryptiline[sp?]" [an antidepressant with a drowsiness side-effect] at a very low dose), even if for only one night. I am going to see if using it tonight will help me become calm enough to do this. Also, upon noticing the thread about doing it outside, I do realize I am calmer outside and I may try it there also if this does not work.

Thank you however, and I believe the reasons why I have so much trouble are two: I am ADD (I also have high-functioning autism, although this disorder is a very ill-defined one, and it is difficult for me to tell whether or not the different thought processes that occopany this disorder would affect my ability to perform self-hypnosis / use i-doser) and I have learned that I am a very audial/verbal thinker with a limited ability for tactile memory, making many techniques for vast concentration improval more difficult for me to wield (although I would imagine my audial thinking nature would aid me, even if only a tad :? ). -EDIT- It does occur to me, however, that although the i-doser program uses sound to work, my deep sound-based thought patterns and manner of thinking may not effect the "beat" which the sound waves create in my head. I also doubt that the rhythm is the problem. For any who don't understand why I mentioned this: it nullifies my previous parenthetical statement, and I'm trying to make observations which may assist the workability of i-doser in relation to myself. -EDIT-

If you can think of anything else that might help a restless, non-tactile thinking, easily distracted bloke, please let me know v.v.... Meanwhile, I am still planning on using the amitryptiline(sp?... If I am spelling this incorrectly, please inform me.)

keep on trying, but keep in mind that i-doser simply dosn't work for everyone.

also, i think it said somwhere that other drugs could aid the doses. mabe your sleep medicine will help you calm down. i hope you can get it to work. it takes alot of concentration and focus, you really have to think about the sound the whole time. anyways, good luck

Well, what bothers me is, when I get very, very calm, it seems to work a little, however, extreme calmness is a difficult state for me to achieve intentionally.

I think the doses should work at least okayishly on me, but don't because I suck too much at the techniques to assist them to an appropriate extent.... I hate the idea that I simply can't do something like this also, and it is my opinion that, if at all possible, those behind i-doser should put a bit more work into helping their 10% get it to work. I know not everyone would be able to use it, but I think that the techniques they inform their customers of using should be refined. I would suggest that they include your instructions which you say you use for self-hypnosis, that helped me a bit that night.... Unfortunately, I doubt any advice beyond what I have found and/or already know can really assist me, but I'm feeling tired and rambly (sadly enough, it's even harder for me to do this when I am tired).... =.=

I am persistant however, and I thank you for your advice and support. ^^

Haha! I realized my problem. It was stupid arrogance... I insisted I was doing everything right at first, but then looked very carefully over all I was doing (using anesthetic, which I assumed would be the most powerful, due to it's effect....) and carefully listened to the sound. That was what I wasn't doing. I have a bad habit of getting distracted. When I hear the sounds I'll start to analyze them and make internalized guesses at how they work.... After realizing that I do that, and cutting it out of the routine, I started noticing the effects as soon as the sounds started to change.... It felt like anasthesia to be sure. I hate anasthesia a lot though, so the moment I noticed it working I stopped with a start (no oxymoronic pun intended >.>).... I am now going to try others. If I am equally successful, I may not need to use my sleep aid.

Thank you.

yay! glad you got somthing. make sure you don't freak out when you feel the effects kick in. if you can stay calm and soak in all the sounds, you get the best results.
