Is it supposed to have a strange crackling throughout? (not the white noise ofcourse). I think this might be why it didnt work.

I think you were just forcing those effects upon yourself. I highly doubt you could feel different after a couple of minutes. And why dont you just read the description of alcahol and nitrous.

It's impossible to get your hands on the brown noise. It's most likely never been found anyway.
